Brooklyn, NY: Navratri Puja Ceremony & Group Kirtan

Brooklyn Yoga School
82 6th Ave Brooklyn NY 11217

NAVRATRI is an annual Hindu festival that takes place over 9 days and nights in the Fall. Also known as Durga Puja, this festival honors nine distinct aspects of the divine feminine, in particular SARASWATI, LAKSHMI and DURGA -- symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness, and illumination over ignorance. In India, this festival is a time of ceremony, reflection, celebration, community and practice.

Many of the Kirtan Wallahs who lead chanting at Brooklyn Yoga School have been a part of this auspicious festival in India in years past, and this year we are celebrating it here in Brooklyn with an evening of call and response kirtan and puja ceremony. Join us for this special community evening to practice together and celebrate the many aspects of the divine feminine and her universal forces of creation. Join us anytime throughout the evening from 6pm - 11pm. Exact evening schedule as follows:
