Details & registration

A gathering of chanting, story, mysticism, and embodied practice

March 1, 2026 | 8am-11am Pacific | 3-Hour Live Immersion

Sliding Scale: $45-65 | Recording available to all registrants

What if the Sacred Feminine is not something to learn about, but someone to feel, hear, and recognize within all beings and all things?

She appears across cultures and traditions, in nature and in the unseen, in the mystics of old and the lived experience of your own body. She is vast, and the only true doorway to her is your own direct experience: the way she meets you uniquely.

Join kirtan leader Nina Rao and interspiritual guide Mirabai Starr for a rich, experiential journey into the Sacred Feminine. Through devotional singing, mystical teachings, storytelling, and contemplative practice, we will explore the many forms of the Divine Feminine as she appears in chant, in story, in nature, and within our own lives. This gathering invites you not only to learn about the Sacred Feminine, but to embody her.

What We Will Explore

Kirtan and Devotional Chanting with Nina Rao

Nina will guide us in invocation, chanting, and japa, weaving in the stories of the Devis, the twenty-one Taras, and her own intimate experiences with Siddhi Ma. Her offerings invite us into the heart-opening immediacy of the Goddess as she descends into the world and into our lives.

Mystical Teachings and Storytelling with Mirabai Starr

Mirabai will share luminous stories of the feminine mystics, beginning with Hildegard of Bingen and her deep attunement to nature. Together we will explore mystics such as Hildegard of Bingen, Teresa of Avila, and present-day mystics whose voices carry the Sacred Feminine into our world.

Dialogue and Shared Inquiry

Together, Mirabai and Nina enter a flowing conversation exploring the Sacred Feminine as a mandala of many forms, her accessibility in everyday life, recognizing her presence in people, in nature, and in the unseen, and how we each personally approach and experience her wisdom.

Writing Practice and Breakout Groups

Mirabai leads a contemplative writing practice designed to help you access and integrate your own connection to the Sacred Feminine. Breakout groups offer space for gentle sharing and heartfelt community reflection.

Questions and Responses

You will have opportunities throughout the gathering to bring forward questions, reflections, and lived experiences.

NYC + Online: Chanting 108 Hanuman Chalisas

This offering is free but if you wish to support Tibet House who is offering this beautiful sacred space for the event, please bring cash to put in the box or donate online.

Participate in our tradition of chanting together in-person every year on the first calendar day! We’ve been doing this for over 21 years, with a break in 2021 & 2022 when we chanted virtually from our homes. You can watch the livestream on my YouTube channel (NinaRaoChant). Though we are able to meet in-person again since COVID, please take care of yourself and test/stay home if you are sick. Stay tuned for updates through my email list.

This is a free event, and we invite you to bring flowers or any easy-to-share vegan/vegetarian prasada to offer at the altar, such as fruits or nuts, which will be distributed through the course of the day. There will be some pillows for floor seating and chairs as well.

Words sheets can downloaded from my website’s lyrics section, and you may print them at home if you wish.

Join on Zoom

Join us on Tuesday, December 16, for a heart-opening hour of sacred sound and deep presence.

This gathering will center on the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, one of the most powerful healing mantras in the Vedic tradition. Known as the Great Death-Conquering Mantra, it is a prayer for protection, renewal, inner stability, and freedom from fear—supporting both physical healing and spiritual awakening. Chanting this mantra together in community creates a potent field of collective intention and grace.

Over the course of the hour, we will:

  • Explore the mantra’s meaning, origins, and roots in devotion

  • Learn and refine pronunciation together

  • Chant 108 times (or as many as time allows)

All are welcome—no prior chanting experience is needed. Come exactly as you are, and allow yourself to rest in the rhythm, resonance, and healing power of the mantra.

To prepare, you’re welcome to listen to past recordings HERE.
