La Ventana, Baja California Sur (Mexico): Yogatma Retreat including Kirtan with Nina

This retreat is an invitation to rediscover the essence that already lives within you. Through the practice of Yoga, meditation, Kirtan, and ancestral therapies such as dance and ice bathing, we will immerse ourselves in a space of connection, gratitude, and healing. Finding that link between mind and heart, raising our energy to its highest potential— with special guest, Nina Rao.

YOGATMA is a space known for its comprehensive approach to yoga, going beyond the physical practice of asana on the mat, including all aspects that make up genuine practice: asana, pranayama, meditation, chanting, maximum compassion and a deep connection with the inner self.

Phoenicia, NY: Menla Vajra Yoga Mahasiddha Reuinion 2026

Join the third reunion of this usually far-flung all-star gathering of teachers and practitioners of Indic yogic sciences and spiritual traditions! This inspiring weeklong immersion, an aspiring annual tradition, brings together Dr. Robert Svoboda, Krishna Das, Nina Rao, Chandra Easton, Michele Loew, John Campbell, and Prof. Robert Thurman for a stand-alone hybrid retreat weaving Ayurveda, Bhakti Yoga, Vajrayoga, and tantric Hatha Yoga.

The Mahasiddha Reunion explores the shared roots and living connections between these traditions through study, practice, discussion, and devotion. Participants leave physically energized, deeply inspired, and connected to a growing community dedicated to spiritual evolution and embodied wisdom.

Mornings focus on integrated Vajrayoga practices led by John Campbell, with breath-centered movement and meditative exploration. Nina Rao and Chandra Easton offer teachings on the sacred feminine, Tara and Devi, along with mantra, kirtan, and devotional practice, while Robert Thurman presents the tantric and “Rājayoga” dimensions of Vajrayoga.

Afternoon sessions feature lively teachings and storytelling led by Svoboda, Thurman, and Krishna Das, drawing from the lives and wisdom of great Indian and Indo-Tibetan mahasiddhas. These include Svoboda’s insights from his decades studying Ayurveda and the Aghori tradition, Krishna Das’s devotional presence inspired by Neem Karoli Baba, and Thurman’s Vajrayana teachings rooted in the lineages of his Tibetan gurus, with special emphasis on female siddhas and the many emanations of Tara, supported by Nina Rao and Chandra Easton

Svoboda and Thurman will also lead special Fire Pujas in the central field of Menla's campus, with all students participating. This puja is a powerful way to heal and energize our planetary mandala and celebrate the eventual triumph of the total liberation and enlightenment of all beings (including ourselves!) in a gorgeous setting.

The Heart of the Path with Krishna Das and Nina Rao ~A week-long retreat of chant, workshops, discussions, and music with Krishna Das and Nina Rao.

This retreat is a wonderful opportunity to immerse in the practice of chant in all its forms – call-and-response kirtan, chanting of long-form prayers to the goddess, the Hanuman Chalisa and more, as well as practice of japa or veda mantra recitation. In addition, we have the opportunity to sit with Krishna Das as he offers an open forum for Q&A and discussions of whatever might be on your mind! Many have found great solace in just hanging out together and sharing in our intentions, challenges, and doubts.

In addition, Krishna Das and Nina will be accompanied by Arjun Bruggeman on tabla, who has been playing with them for almost two decades. Arjun will offer his own ‘rhythmic sound and mantra’ journey – an immersive sound journey where rhythm and mantra become the bridge between the outer world and the vast, uncharted depths of the inner self. Through the primal power of percussive instruments—frame drum, tabla, kalimba and hang drum—we create a pulsing, textured soundscape that gently dissolves the surface noise of the mind, guiding you into a deep state of presence and release.
