Join Nina Rao, Genevieve Walker, and Lopön Chandra Easton — the trio behind the 21 Taras Collective — for an afternoon of mantra, music, and devotion celebrating their debut album, Mantra Mala Vol. 1.
Lopön Chandra opens with an introduction to Tara — her history, her twenty-one emanations, and her meditation practice — offering a living context for the mantras you are about to chant. Each of the three will then share and lead their own compositions from the album, guiding participants through chanting together while offering the stories and teachings behind each Tara's mantra and melody
Whether you are new to Tara practice or a longtime devotee, all voices and all levels of experience are welcome. Come ready to chant, listen, and let the Taras in.

Bring your voices and your presence to this evening of chanting the divine names in community as an ever-deepening practice in the Nature of the Heart. About Nina:
Nina Rao first learned sacred chants as a young girl from her grandfather in south India, and the chants stayed quietly with her until she rediscovered this powerful practice with Krishna Das in New York in 1996. Since then she has been KD’s business manager and accompanies him musically. In 1998 she met her guru, Sri Siddhi Ma, in the foothills of the Himalayas and spent time with her regularly for 19 years, while Ma was in the body.
Nina has been chanting regularly as her main practice, has recorded albums that are widely streamed and played around the world, leads chant events, studies and shares Veda chanting and, spiritual texts, is a hospice volunteer, is a podcast host for Be Here Now Network, goes on yatra/pilgrimage, and is a wildlife conservationist as chairperson for Saving Wild Tigers. La comunidad de México está amorosamente invitada a una Noche de Kirtan muy especial, un encuentro de canto devocional, oración y apertura del corazón, inspirado en las enseñanzas eternas de Neem Karoli Baba (Maharaji), quien nos recordó con simplicidad y profundidad: “Ama a todos, sirve a todos y recuerda a Dios.”

The community of Mexico is lovingly invited to a very special Kirtan Night, a gathering of devotional singing, prayer and opening of the heart , inspired by the eternal teachings of Neem Karoli Baba (Maharaji) , who reminded us with simplicity and depth: “Love everyone, serve everyone and remember God.”
About the Event: On this sacred evening, we gather to sing, dissolve the barriers of the ego, and return together to the space of unconditional love. Kirtan is not a concert: it is a collective offering, a living meditation where every voice matters and every heart is welcome.
We will sing alongside Nina Rao, one of the most renowned voices in contemporary Kirtan internationally. A direct disciple of the Bhakti tradition passed down by Maharaji and many others. Nina shares singing as a path to healing, surrender, and remembrance of the Self. Her music is born from silence, practice, and love, and has accompanied thousands of people around the world on their spiritual journey. The night is an invitation to:

Join Nina each morning of Bhaktifest West with hour-long chanting of Hanuman Chalisas (40-verse prayer in the Indian tradition in praise of Hanuman). Held in the Sanctuary Hall at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center.
