NYC: SOUK Chants (KIRTAN) with Devadas and Nina Rao

Come join us in call and response chanting (kirtan) of ancient mantras! Mantras are melodic phrases in the ancient language of Sanskrit that allow us to travel beyond the incessant ruminations of our mind and touch a part of ourselves that can only be reached by the sound of our own voices. The self calling out to the SELF and being heard!

Devadas is a kirtaniya, composer and artist hailing from Brooklyn, New York. He leads kirtans throughout the world and has recorded a wide variety of acclaimed CDs, including his latest releases, 3 Prayers and Radio Nada. In 2012, Devadas collaborated with indie-rock icon J Mascis to produce and record the film score for the feature documentary One Track Heart: The Story of Krishna Das. Devadas produced Nina Rao’s chant album, Antarayaami, and in 2016 launched the Lokah Peace Project, an online and ever-expanding video project aimed at inspiring reflection, empathy and harmony.

NIGHT OF KIRTAN, BHAKTI AND COMMUNITY

A gathering of devotional singing, prayer, and opening of the heart

The community of Mexico is lovingly invited to a very special Kirtan Night, a gathering of devotional singing, prayer and opening of the heart , inspired by the eternal teachings of Neem Karoli Baba (Maharaji) , who reminded us with simplicity and depth: “Love everyone, serve everyone and remember God.”

About the Event: On this sacred evening, we gather to sing, dissolve the barriers of the ego, and return together to the space of unconditional love. Kirtan is not a concert: it is a collective offering, a living meditation where every voice matters and every heart is welcome.

We will sing alongside Nina Rao, one of the most renowned voices in contemporary Kirtan internationally. A direct disciple of the Bhakti tradition passed down by Maharaji and many others. Nina shares singing as a path to healing, surrender, and remembrance of the Self. Her music is born from silence, practice, and love, and has accompanied thousands of people around the world on their spiritual journey. The night is an invitation to:

  • Remember who we are

  • Singing beyond the mind

  • Feeling supported by the Sangha

  • Let your heart guide the way

You don't need any prior experience, just bring your presence, your voice as it is, and the desire to sing together.
